Bobby Monroe died Tues.,6-24-09. I don't know if you knew or remember him but he was a Wheel Lord,too. Dean,Larry and Fred will know. Fred was Bobby's sponsor. Me and Bobby came to San Jose together and joined the club.He lived hard and partied to the end. One tough little dude! Going to his funeral today. Robert E. Monroe Jr., 54, beloved son, father, brother and friend left this life to be with his Lord and loved ones Tuesday, June 23, 2009. Funeral services are 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009, in the chapel of E.P. Compean Funeral Directors. Interment follows in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
Visitation is 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, in the chapel preceding the services.
Robert attended Calvary Episcopal School in Richmond and then Lamar CISD, and was a member of the Texas Czech Society. When Robert was young, he built a Harley and traveled a lot while always on an adventure. He built many motorcycles throughout the years and had an answer to any question one would ask. He owned and operated Honey-Do Services and A-Guaranteed Roofing. Robert was self-educated, learning all he could about life and how things worked. He had a very curious mind, very interesting to talk with and always had an opinion.
Robert was a devoted father to his two daughters; he was loving, kind and had a free spirit. He was a friend to many and a father to all. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Monroe; and son, Robert E. Monroe III.
Robert is survived by his daughters, Hanna Jo Monroe and Cady Lynn Monroe; mother, Anne Robinson; sisters, Elizabeth Cockrell and husband, Mike, and Anne Kaye Monroe; and many other family members and friends.
